WEYBURN, Sask. - Joannie Garand had a goal and an assist in regulation, then scored in the shootout as the Express du Richelieu edged the Rocky Mountain Raiders 4-3 on Friday to earn their spot in the 2016 Esso Cup final.

The Express will face the Brantford Ice Cats for Canada's national women's midget ice hockey championship on Saturday while the Raiders will play the Saskatoon Stars for bronze.

Camille Fleury and Floriane Dion also scored in regulation for the Express and Eloise Dube had three assists and a shootout goal.

Kara Kondrat forced overtime when she scored at 19:10 of the third period for the Raiders. Paige Russell and Hailey McCallum rounded out the offence with a goal each.

Express netminder Marithe Levesque made 32 saves for the win as Kate Lloyd turned away 28-of-31 shots for Rocky Mountain. …
