Tsai to Be Briefed on Foreign Affairs during Friday Foreign Ministry Visit

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- President-elect Tsai Ing-wen is scheduled to be given a closed-door in-depth briefing on the country's foreign affairs during a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' (MOFA) headquarters in Taipei this Friday, sources close to the matter said on Tuesday.

Sources told The China Post that the ministry has prepared a 90-minute closed-door briefing starting at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon to provide Tsai with the latest information on the nation's foreign affairs.

The foreign minister and vice ministers, as well as heads of MOFA's regional departments, will also be joining the briefing, the source said.

The meeting will not be open to the press, a source said, adding that more details will be announced by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) soon. …
