Winnipeg man dead after alleged stabbing

SASKATOON - An 18-year-old teen who was stabbed to death in Saskatoon had moved to the city from Winnipeg to help an autistic child.

Mohammed Omar was stabbed on Sunday in what police say was an argument.

Aarif Jomha says Omar helped him with his 13-year-old son, who has autism.

"It's the first friend that (my son) had," Jomha said Monday outside court in Saskatoon.

"When I told him (the news), he said, 'That's my best friend. Who's going to teach me now?'"

Jomha also said Omar and the accused were friends and hung out together all the time.

"Everybody is shocked about it," Jomha said.

Wallid Mohamed, who is 29, is charged with first-degree murder. …
