UNEMPLOYMENT DOWN, MOSTLY, IN ATLANTIC CANADA

Job creation may have been flat nationally last month, but three Atlantic provinces bucked the trend and made gains.

Newfoundland and Labrador led the way with the addition of 6,100 jobs -- pushing down the unemployment rate to 12.5 per cent, from 13.1 per cent in March.

Employment in New Brunswick increased by 3,900 as the unemployment rate fell 0.6 percentage points to 9.6 per cent -- and a gain of 2,700 jobs helped push Nova Scotia's rate to 8.3 per cent from 9.1.

The 51-year-old says she's spent about $60,000 on legal fees and psychologist's bills to get the case this far but even if she wins, she's not sure if she'll ever return to the profession that she loved.

Police say the body of Joseph Cameron was found on the sidewalk at about 5:20 a.m. on March 29 after they received reports of shots fired in the area of Spring Avenue and Mount Edward Road.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the car or who has a tip about the shooting. …
