Brennan, Hyman Each Score Twice as Marlies Beat Devils to Even Series

Bibeau, Marlies even series with Albany 1-1

TORONTO - T.J. Brennan and Zach Hyman both scored twice as the Toronto Marlies evened their American Hockey League second-round series against the Albany Devils at a game apiece with a 5-3 victory on Friday.

Ben Smith also scored for the Marlies, who got a solid performance out of goaltender Antoine Bibeau. The Victoriaviile, Que., native turned away 40-of-43 shots, including three different breakaways that could have changed the outcome of the game.

Bibeau stopped Reid Boucher on a short-handed breakaway with 2:28 to play in the first period to keep it 2-1 Albany. He then stopped Nick Lappin in alone just over a minute into the second while it was still a one-goal game. Bibeau got the best of Lappin again in the third when it was 3-3 and shortly after Brennan scored the eventual winner. …
