Canadian men winless at Paris Sevens

PARIS - Canada endured another painful day on the HSBC World Series, losing to Argentina and the U.S. at the Paris Sevens on Saturday.

The Canadian men, beaten 42-5 by France on Friday, lost 28-7 to Argentina and 33-12 to the U.S. on Saturday to finish last in Pool D, outscored 103-24. Canada has now lost its last nine games on the circuit, dating back to April 10 in Hong Kong.

Liam Middleton's team will now play Russia in the consolation Bowl semifinals Sunday. The Russians started the current Canadian losing streak, winning 19-4 in Hong Kong.

In the elite Cup quarter-finals, it's Fiji versus Australia, France versus Kenya, South Africa versus Samoa and New Zealand versus Argentina.

Argentina led 14-0 at the half and increased the lead to 28-0 before Nathan Hiryama scored a converted try late in the contest. …
