Canada's De Grasse Adds Another Diamond League Win, Racing to Victory in Oslo

De Grasse races to Diamond League win

OSLO - Canada's Andre De Grasse raced to his second consecutive Diamond League victory.

The 21-year-old from Markham, Ont., won the 100 metres in a season's best 10.07 seconds at the Bislett Games on Thursday.

"I ran my season best as I wanted," De Grasse said. "In next races I hope for more improvements. Next should be definitely a sub-10 seconds."

De Grasse won the 200 metres at last week's Diamond League meet in Birmingham, England.

Running in temperatures of about 14 C -- chilly for a sprinter -- De Grasse edged American Michael Rodgers, who was second Thursday in 10.09. Dentarius Locke of the U.S. was third in 10.12.

Canadian Shawn Barber won silver in the men's pole vault, while teammate Christabel Nettey was second in women's long jump. …
