TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Police authorities have busted an illicit drug factory that was operating in remote mountainous areas in Taichung earlier this month, the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB, [...]) has announced.

In a released statement, the CIB said it had received tips earlier this month that a narcotic ring has been running a drug factory at a remote mountainous area in Taichung for a period of time.

The factory was established by a chief suspect, surnamed Lin ([...]). Originally based in Pingtung county, Lin decided to establish the factory in the less accessible location to provide illicit drugs to customers in Southern Taiwan in the hope that this will make police harder to find, the CIB said.

Following weeks of investigations, CIB said police authorities raided the factory earlier this month. …
