TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB, [...]) recently warned of an online investment fraud ring that has already scammed over US$200,000 from dozens of Taiwanese victims.

According to the CIB, the ring claimed that it has inside information and promised a high return on investment to potential victims in Taiwan.

The ring operated online has allegedly scammed over 37 victims over one month, according to statistics provided by the 165 anti-fraud hotline.

Most of the victims were females between the ages of 35 and 55.

The victims include a Taipei citizen surnamed Su ([...]) who met an alleged member of the scam ring via an online social media network.
