Harris named CFL top performer for 3rd time

TORONTO - Trevor Harris continues to make the Ottawa Redblacks look good on the field and shrewd in the front office.

For the third time in four weeks, the Redblacks quarterback has been named one of the CFL's top performers. Harris set a new single-game completion percentage record (minimum 30-plus attempts) with 90.3 per cent after completing 28-of 31 passes for 392 yards in a 30-20 win at Toronto on Wednesday. Harris also ran in a touchdown against his former team.

Ottawa signed Harris in the off-season to back up 41-year-old Henry Burris, last year's CFL outstanding player of the year.

He has paid immediate dividends in Ottawa. After coming into the Redblacks' season-opener in Edmonton in relief of the injured Burris, Harris has stepped up and led the club to an 3-0-1 record to start the year. …
