KINGSTON, Ont. - Police say a British lieutenant-colonel who was temporarily posted to Kingston, Ont., is charged with sexually assaulting a female officer in the Canadian military.

Kingston police say the alleged victim went to a "licensed establishment" in downtown Kingston early on April 10 with a group of people who had attended a military function at Fort Frontenac.

Investigators allege the accused followed the 52-year-old woman when she returned to her nearby hotel and sexually assaulted her in her room.

They say 45-year-old Christopher Davies was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of sexual assault.

National Defence spokesman Daniel Le Bouthillier said Thursday in an email that military police in Kingston were collaborating with the city's police force, who have jurisdiction over the investigation. …
