TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A silver sedan overturned Sunday into a ditch on the Suhua Highway ([...]) on the East Coast, resulting in four deaths and three injuries.

The accident occurred at the highway's 125.7-kilometer mark, on the border between Suao and Nanao townships. It was reported to the Yilan County Fire Department at 7 p.m. Ambulances and rescue squads from six nearby townships were dispatched to the scene.

Four passengers were thrown out of the car when its rear right-side door swung open from the force of the impact. They were left dead in pools of blood nearby or under the car, according to rescuers at the scene. Two passengers sustained severe injuries, and one sustained light injuries. …
