Professors Urge Gov't to Build Memorial for Taiwanese War Dead

On the 71st anniversary since Japan's surrendered in World War II, the Taiwan Association of University Professors (TAUP, [...]) Monday urged the government to build a memorial to Taiwanese soldiers who lost their lives fighting in WWII.

TAUP said Taiwan observes the Anniversary of Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan and Taiwan Retrocession Day, but there are no holidays to commemorate Taiwanese soldiers killed in WWII.
