An editorial from the Summerside Journal Pioneer, published Aug. 21:

To the event that most Canadians will be talking about around the water cooler on Monday and for years at come, what is said to be the final concert of Gord Downie and his Tragically Hip.

For more than three hours The Hip played before a sold-out hometown crowd in Kingston, Ont., and before millions of Canadians watching from home and at viewing parties across the country. The set list was made up of 30 songs, poetic prose from one of this country's most loved bands.

Front man Downie, battling terminal cancer, was magical, interspersing wise words and words of thanks in between songs to a captive Canadian audience.

It is hard to believe that this will be the last time we see The Hip on stage. …
