3 Taiwanese Tourists Severely Injured in Cambodia Traffic Accident

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Three tourists from Taiwan were severely injured in a traffic accident in Cambodia yesterday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the accident occurred at 11:30 a.m. as the 11-member tour group was making its way via bus from Angkor Wat to Phnom Penh.

A motorcyclist, allegedly riding on the wrong side of the road, forced the bus off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Eight from the group were injured in the accident, including three seriously. They were taken to hospital in Phnom Penh for treatment, with those with minor injuries later released.

The tour group was on a five-day tour of Cambodia arranged by travel agency Lion Travel, with the trip due to end on Friday, Nov. 11.

The three severely injured tourists remain in hospital in Phnom Penh. …
