HALIFAX. x-14s. The Halifax lawyer prosecuting the brutal murders of a mother and her daughter says she hopes the message coming out of the case is that domestic abuse will not be tolerated. Alison Brown says the life sentence and 18-year parole ineligibility period handed to Gerald Rushton yesterday is instructive to other potential offenders. She said outside court that the family of the two victims is pleased the matter is over.
