(Anti-Semitic-Graffiti)

An Ottawa rabbi is blaming attitudes engendered by the election of Donald Trump as U-S president for anti-Semitic graffiti spray painted on her front door.

Anna Maranta that after she woke up this morning, she discovered someone had written a racial slur and a swastika in bright red paint on the door of her home.

She says it was done some time between 11 p-m last night and 2:45 a-m.

Ottawa police are investigating. (CFRA)

(Food-Banks-Ontario)

Ontario is one of only two provinces that saw usage of food banks drop this year.

A report by Food Banks Canada says the number of people accessing food banks in its March survey period was down 6.4 per cent from the same month last year.

But it says nearly 336-thousand people in the province still needed help to feed themselves -- and a third of them were children.

Manitoba was the only other province to see a decrease in March with food bank usage down 2.9 per cent -- with national usage up 1.3 per cent. (The Canadian Press)

(Ont-ER-Wait-Times)

A review of Ontario's hospital emergency departments finds most patients get to see a doctor quicker, but the sickest people can spend hours or even days in hallways waiting for a bed.

Health Quality Ontario says the maximum amount of time most patients waited to see a doctor in an emergency room declined 16 per cent over the past seven years -- down to three hours from 3.6.

There was also a 10 per cent drop in the amount of time spent in emergency wards, down to 7.8 hours from 8.7 hours.

But the agency says many of the sickest patients may spend hours and sometimes days lying on stretchers in E-R examination rooms or hallways waiting to be admitted because people who should be in long term care are taking up hospital beds. (The Canadian Press)
