WINNIPEG. x-14s. Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister is facing more questions about his plan to spend up to eight weeks a year at his vacation home in Costa Rica. Pallister's office says, in the event of an emergency in Manitoba, the premier would take a commercial flight back home. But because there are no direct flights, the return trip could take more than a day. N-D-P justice critic Andrew Swan says that spells trouble.

TAG: The premier's office says any time Pallister is away, another cabinet minister serves as acting premier and has full authority. Pallister also has a cell phone with him when he travels.
