Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reminded dozens of people at a town hall meeting today that he favoured a ranked ballot system in the past, even though his government insists it has an open mind about how to change the electoral system.

As he kicked off a whirlwind, taxpayer-funded outreach tour today, Trudeau faced critical questions at a townhall meeting in Kingston, Ontario about issues including the Phoenix pay controversy and the handling of indigenous issues.

Trudeau says if a government gets disconnected from the people it has the responsibility of serving, it cannot serve them very well and they notice.
