Mourinho to Give Carrick Every Chance of Playing

JOSE Mourinho will wait to make a decision about whether Michael Carrick can face West Ham tomorrow and play three games in a week for the first time this season.

Carrick was a surprise inclusion in Mourinho's team to face Feyenoord on Thursday with the game sandwiched between Premier League clashes against Arsenal and West Ham.

He turned 35 in the summer and Mourinho has cited the midfielder's age as the reason for his sporadic use so far this season.

But after forming a midfield partnership with Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, Carrick has cemented his place in Mourinho's team.

And the United manager is set to give him as much time as possible to prove his fitness before starting a third game in a week for the first time since March. United go into the clash with West Ham nine points behind leaders Chelsea but Mourinho insists his team should not be written off in the title race. …
