JOHN Stones added to City's feelgood factor at Hull - but not before leaving Blues staff sweating over another injury.

The centre-back had to be taken off early in the first half of the hard-earned win over Hull yesterday and was replaced by Aleks Kolarov for the duration of the game, but the manager does not think the injury is as serious as first feared.

"He had a huge kick in his knee," said Pep Guardiola.

"He could not run and that's why we changed.

"Now when you see his knee it is swollen - but it is just a kick, not ligaments or anything."

The Blues picked up their third win in a row, scoring three times in the last 20 minutes at the KCOM Stadium.

It meant the Blues left Hull happy on what had threatened to be a frustrating evening for them, and news on Stones will further help the mood. …
