JOSE Mourinho doesn't want United goalkeeper David de Gea to end up with any personal awards this season.

The Spanish number one has been voted the Reds' Player of the Year for the last three seasons, winning the coveted Sir Matt Busby statuette.

His save during the recent match against West Ham from Michail Antonio was a matchturner.

United were facing a stalemate with the 10-man Hammers when De Gea pulled off his second-half stop. The Reds went on to win 2-0. "I think when a goalkeeper is a player of the season, it's because something is wrong," said Mourinho.

"Of course I would love goalkeepers to be recognised, to win the golden ball (Ballon d'Or), to be player of season in the Premier League because goalkeepers are lonely guys with a different shirt to everybody else. …
