Carsley's Boys Set for Liverpool Cup Visit

CITY Under-18s look to book their place in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup when they take on Liverpool.

Lee Carsley's team take on the Merseysiders at the Academy Stadium and will be confident going into tonight's clash.

The squad are undefeated this season in the league - beating Liverpool 7-0 in their only meeting of the campaign - and opened up their FA Youth Cup account with a 4-0 defeat of Reading.

Brahim Diaz, Lukas Nmecha and Demeaco Duhaney all played a part in that game last month, dropping down from the EDS squad in a sign that the Blues are taking this competition seriously again.

The EDS are involved in Premier League Cup action tomorrow but Carsley should again be able to pick a strong team.

City have reached the final in the last two years, only to be beaten on each occasion by kings of youth football Chelsea. …
