Blues and Sagna to Consider Appeal over Pounds 40k Fine

CITY and Bacary Sagna are considering an appeal against a Pounds 40,000 FA fine for the player's misconduct.

The defender has been hit with the penalty after an Instagram post which inferred that Lee Mason's refereeing in the win over Burnley had made it "10 against 12" after the dismissal of Fernandinho.

Both City and the player are thought to be mulling over an appeal against the severity of the fine.

The club feels this is the latest in a series of cases in which their players have been disproportionately punished.

West Ham's Andy Carroll was let off with a warning after saying ref Jonathan Moss had decided to "even things up" by awarding a penalty against him in their draw at Leicester in April.

Then Chelsea' Gary Cahill tweeted "Unbelievable" and some angry face emojis after a post-match interview in which he said official Andre Marriner missed a foul at Swansea which someone "sat on the moon" would have spotted. …
