ELTON JOHN WILL COMPOSE FOR STAGE VERSION OF "THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA"

NEW YORK (AP) -- A musical based on "The Devil Wears Prada" will feature the music of Elton John. Producer Kevin McCollum says John will write music for a stage version based on the movie and book. John wrote the music for the stage productions of "The Lion King" and "Aida." It's uncertain when the musical is expected to premiere.

INDIA.ARIE DEFENDS CHRISETTE MICHELE

UNDATED (AP) -- India Arie says she doesn't agree with Chrisette Michele's decision to play President Donald Trump's inauguration, but she is standing up for Michele. Arie writes in an open letter online she never would have accepted that invitation, but she believes "we all deserve our journey without being abused by strangers for it." Arie believes Michele's performance was "a career misstep" but life is nuanced and Michele should be free to be a human.

WILLIE NELSON CANCELS SHOWS

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Willie Nelson has a bad cold and is cancelling two shows in Las Vegas. Nelson's publicist says he won't play tomorrow or Sunday. But Nelson plans to play the remaining three shows -- next Wednesday, Friday and Saturday -- at The Venetian resort on the Vegas Strip.

VICTIMS WANT JUDGE TO SEIZE C-MURDER EARNINGS

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- C-Murder's latest music releases are coming under scrutiny from victims of a botched nightclub shooting. The Baton Rouge Advocate reports attorneys for staff and patrons of Club Raggs are asking a judge to seize the earnings from C-Murder's "Penitentiary Chances" album to cover $150,000 in unpaid civil judgments. C-Murder was convicted of attempted murder after a malfunctioning handgun prevented him from opening fire inside the club in 2001. He is serving a life sentence for a separate murder. C-Murder has said he recorded the album before he went to prison, but officials say the music was recorded while he was in prison. …
