Canada names short-track speedskating roster

MONTREAL - Olympic medallists Marianne St-Gelais and Charles Hamelin headline Canada's short-track speedskating roster for the upcoming ISU World Championships and World Cup.

Speed Skating Canada announced Thursday the 10-skater team -- five men and five women -- who will compete at the World Championships from Mar. 10-12 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The same roster will represent Canada at fifth stop of the World Cup circuit in Dresden, Germany from Feb. 3-5.

Three skaters from each gender will skate in the individual races with the top eight skaters in overall standings having the opportunity to collect additional points by taking part in the 3,000-metre Super Final.
