Blues kingpin Yaya Toure said the 19-year-old Brazil striker already looks like a player mature beyond his years, and tipped him to be a vital part of a new golden generation.

Jesus made a very bright start as City won 3-0 at Crystal Palace in the FA Cup on Saturday, and Toure was impressed.

"He is very clever," said the Ivorian. "I say it at the training ground in Spanish, that he looks like an old guy because he is clever, he moves clever and he is quite strong. It is not easy to play against tough defenders. He got kicked but I told him to keep going."

Jesus did not score on his full debut, but he set up Raheem Sterling for the opening goal - and then another young buck, Leroy Sane, netted the crucial second. …
