VICTORIA. x-12s. A logger who lost his leg in a tree-falling accident on Haida Gwaii says he was forced to wait for five hours for an air ambulance to evacuate him to the nearest hospital in Queen Charlotte City, a twenty minute flight away. Esko Saarinen (SAIR'-eh-nin) says he agrees with today's report by B-C's forest safety ombudsman calling for faster air ambulance response times in remote and rural areas.
