NAT089 - (WEA-Atlantic-Storm) HALIFAX. x-11s. Atlantic Canada is being buffeted by bruising winds and heavy snowfall as a blizzard sweeps through the region, cancelling flights and shuttering everything from schools and municipal offices to businesses and hospital services. Environment Canada meteorologist Tracey Talbot says winds were gusting to 110-kilometres an hour in Osborne Head, just outside of Halifax. She says the slow-moving system could dump up to 75 centimetres of snow in some parts of Nova Scotia. ("..there today.") (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)

TAG: Talbot says blizzard and winter storm warnings have been issued for much of the region.
