CITY legend Shaun Goater has taken on a big challenge as he returns to football as manager of Ilkeston.

The 46-year-old is hoping to turn things round at the Evo Stick Northern Premier Division side after a string of bad results find them in danger of relegation.

Paul Holland stepped down as their manager and just hours later Goater was confirmed as his replacement.

Ilkeston are currently second from bottom in the league and are eight points off Sutton Coldfield Town who are one place above them.

The Bermudian will be hoping it will be a more successful attempt at management after his last attempt ended in 2015 after nine defeats in nine games as assistant manager at New Mills.
