NAT122 - (Beluga-Deaths) VANCOUVER. x-16s. Vancouver Aquarium officials say it's still unclear what caused the deaths of two beluga whales at the facility in November despite spending 100-thousand dollars in an ongoing investigation. They say it was likely a toxin that killed belugas Qila and Aurora, but it didn't appear to leave any traces. Despite the uncertainty, aquarium C-E-O John Nightingale says plans to expand the Arctic exhibit and bring back belugas are going ahead. ("..a non-breeding group.") (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)
