'Guardiola Would Make Great Three Lions Boss'

PAUL Scholes has backed Pep Guardiola to be a future England manager.

The former United star says that the City boss needs to tighten up on the Blues' defence but claimed that the brand of football he has brought to the Premier League has won plenty of admirers.

And Scholes, who won 66 international caps for the Three Lions, feels that Guardiola could get the national team moving in the right direction.

"I hope he becomes England coach one day and bring us his style," Scholes told Spanish newspaper Marca.

Guardiola was linked with the coach's job at Brazil in 2012, during his year-long 'sabbatical' from the game, when a source said to be close to the Catalan claimed he liked the idea of making the South Americans world champions.

Guardiola is almost through the first of the three years on his City contract, but has already spoken of a desire to stay in the long term. …
