NAT073 - (US-Sewage-Spill) (NOT FOR ONLINE USE) IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. x-06s. Some California Beaches are closed after raw sewage spilled into the Tijuana River in Mexico. The river drains into the Pacific Ocean on the U-S side where beaches have been closed due to contamination. A report by the International Boundary and Water Commission says the spill lasted two weeks before it was contained Thursday, but not before more than 526-million litres of sewage flowed into the ocean. Imperial Beach Mayor Serge Dedina (deh-DEE'-nah) says he's warning residents to pay attention to the beach closure signs. ("..they're not.") (SOURCE:ABC)
