PHIL Jones has declared himself fit for United's Premier League fixture with Bournemouth tomorrow.

Jones has not played since he hobbled off during United's February 1 goalless draw with Hull, which disrupted an encouraging few months for the 24-year-old.

The centre-back did not play during the first three months of the campaign but proved his worth during United's nine-game winning run over January and February alongside Marcos Rojo.

Rojo reiterated - after his error-strewn EFL Cup final performance - his preference to play at centre-back and Jones returning will intensify the competition for current pair Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling.

"I've been training for the past few days and I'm looking forward to coming back," Jones said.

"I think I've been out for three weeks [it's been over four weeks] so, even if I trained two days before the EFL Cup game, which I did, I didn't expect to be involved. …
