Three Pedestrians in Glen Rock Struck by Vehicles

GLEN ROCK - Two children and an adult suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they were struck by vehicles in separate accidents within a four-hour span on Thursday, police said.

At 3:26 p.m. a 13-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old Glen Rock resident when the boy stepped out behind a vehicle stopped in traffic 150 feet from the crosswalk on Hamilton Avenue, Police Chief Dean Ackerman said. A crossing guard was nearby, but on duty at Rock Road and Hamilton Avenue.

Two minutes later on Thurston Terrace, a 12-year-old girl was hit when she stepped out into traffic about 75 feet south of the crosswalk, police said.

Both accidents occurred within about a block of schools. The children in both cases were transported to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. …
