Doris Elizabeth Arend, age 101, formerly of Sarasota, FL, passed away Mar 3, 2017 at the home of her niece, Sue Hartman, in Palm Harbor, FL. She was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Bratenahl Village, OH, to the late Roy Hoadley and Nellie (McNeeley) Clayton. She moved to Toledo from the Cleveland area in 1927. Doris met and later married Richard Schreder of Toledo who was then in flight training to be a Navy pilot. She had two sons, Tabb and Doug, during her first marriage. After her marriage to Franz Arend in 1967, she lived in Pittsburgh for 14 years while she taught at Robert Morris University in the psychology department. After she retired in 1981, they moved to Woodside South in Sarasota, FL. Although Franz died in 1998, Doris remained close to his children, Gregg, Geoff, Jay and Sparkle. …
