Four St. Louis Officers Are Suspended for Allegedly Getting Unearned OT Pay

Four St. Louis police officers have been suspended without pay amid investigations into allegedly falsified overtime pay requests, the department said Tuesday.

The officers' overtime pay is the focus of internal and criminal investigations, the department said. It did not release details on the amount of overtime pay that is in question but said the scrutiny began a month ago. "It is disheartening when those sworn to protect and uphold the law are accused of stealing from taxpayers," Chief Sam Dotson said. "We hold our officers to a high standard and the actions of a few should not tarnish the hard work and dedication of the men and women who serve without fail."

In addition to questions about overtime pay, one officer was found to be in violation of the residency rule because he lived outside the city, the department said.

Investigators will present their evidence to the Circuit Attorney's Office for potential charges, the department said. …
