CALGARY. x-10s. A historic ranch in southwest Alberta -- one of Canada's oldest working ranches -- is being conserved. The Oxley Ranch, owned by Jennifer Barr and her family, is one of the four largest ranches in Alberta's foothills. The Barrs have entered in to a conservation agreement with the Nature Conservancy of Canada to ensure the 135-year-old property will permanently remain ranchland. Jennifer Barr says it was important to her for the land to continue to be in its natural state long after her and her family are gone.
