ANNAPOLIS ROYAL, N.S. x-20s. The mayor of a small town in Nova Scotia is challenging the accuracy of a docu-drama about the history of Canada. Bill MacDonald, mayor of Annapolis Royal, says he was shocked when the C-B-C program, "Canada: The Story of Us," asserted that the first permanent European settlement in Canada was established near what is now Quebec City. MacDonald says nearby Port Royal, Nova Scotia, is actually the cradle of Canada.
