Police Arrested over 'Supplying Class A Drugs'

TWO police officers have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

They were held as part of a probe by GMP's counter-corruption unit. The male and female officers have been suspended while an investigation continues.

Both officers and a second man, who is not a police officer, were arrested after GMP executed warrants in Middleton, Haslingden and Bacup. A fourth suspect, a 29-year-old man, was arrested later as part of the same probe. It is understood police have seized a number of items including phones to establish any criminal connections as part of a continuing investigation.

The police watchdog, the Independent Police Complaints Commission, has been alerted. A statement from GMP confirmed that, as part of an on-going operation, officers from GMP executed a number of warrants in Middleton, Haslingden and Bacup and arrested two men and a woman on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. …
