- MRS Brown's Boys are coming to Manchester, and love it or loathe it, you can't argue with four nearly-booked-up nights at the Manchester Arena.

Despite taking a pummeling from critics, the show has been a huge success in both Ireland - where the show is set and writer and starring performer Brendan O'Carroll hails from - and in England.

While O'Carroll is best known for playing the foulmouthed matriarch - he dressed as a woman for the role because the actress hired to play the part had failed to show up - the producer has also written numerous plays including The Course and Sparrow's Trap, and rocks the stage as a solo stand-up.

Mrs. Brown's Boys was developed from O'Carroll's series of books written in the early 90s, before being commissioned by the BBC in 2011. …
