CARAVAN carnage, royal visitors, an unexploded hand grenade and the mystery of the sheep killer - it's all going on in Devon and Cornwall, despite what you might expect.

Police work is a little bit more unique here than anywhere else in Britain.

With 4,000 square miles of vast landscape, the force is spread out across the bustling villages, towns, beaches and countryside.

And while you may think the crime levels might only extend to the odd seagull thief or beach ball crisis, once 11 million tourists descend over the summer, enforcing the law is anything but a holiday for these cops.

Although it's not exactly a hotbed of criminal activity on the Scilly Isles, where four officers make up the local force.

It's a place where traffic might be held up because ducks are crossing the road.
