NAT045 - (Vimy-Ridge) (FOR PRODUCTION) VIMY RIDGE, France. x-33s. At the ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, many attendees used umbrellas to guard against the hot sun, a distinct contrast from the rain and sleet the soldiers face in battle a century before. The event was being held in front of the Canadian Vimy Memorial in France. Canada's Governor General David Johnston was one of the dignitaries who spoke, honouring the more than 35-hundred Canadians killed in the battle. This is sound of a bugle player playing "Taps" at the ceremony in Vimy Ridge, France. (fades) (SOURCE:The Canadian Press)
