City Fans' Disbelief as Silva Fails to Make PFA Shortlist

THE nominations for the PFA Player of the Year awards are in - and not a single City player has been nominated for the top men's award.

N'golo Kante, Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Harry Kane make up the six-man shortlist.

A City player has never won the prestigious award and fans could not believe that one of City's best players this season, David Silva, had failed to make the cut.

The Spaniard has been excellent for City this term but has not been recognised by his fellow professionals as one of the best in the league.

It would have been unlikely that Silva would have beaten Chelsea star Kante, who is favourite for the award, but City fans still could not believe that he had been overlooked.

But it wasn't all doom and gloom for City as Leroy Sane was nominated for the Young Player of the Year. …
