Pitt Student Dies in Fall

Pittsburgh police and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner are investigating the death of a 21-year-old University of Pittsburgh student who fell between two apartment buildings in Oakland on Friday evening.

Colin Montesano fell about 20 feet to the ground in the 200 block of Meyran Avenue at 8:44 p.m., police said.

He was unconscious when we was taken by paramedics to UPMC Presbyterian. He was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m.

Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said police believe the fall appears to be accidental but they are continuing to investigate. She said officers haven't reported where the victim was before the fall or what caused it.

The medical examiner hasn't ruled on the cause or manner of death.

The university said Mr. Montesano was a student in the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences but his class and major weren't available. …
