VANCOUVER - (ElxnBC-Vaisakhi)

B-C's political party leaders are back in the Lower Mainland today to celebrate the Sikh festival Vaisakhi which marks the inception of the religion.

N-D-P Leader John Horgan took part in the annual parade in Surrey as it kicked off at 9 a-m this morning.

Liberal Leader Christy Clark joined in the festivities soon after, telling a crowd that it's hardworking people, not government, that creates jobs and a strong economy.

Green Leader Andrew Weaver is expected to attend the celebrations later this afternoon.
