Scouting report * The Cardinals will look to return to .500 or better in their three-game series against Toronto. They've won three in a row and six of their last seven after a 3-9 start.

In their most recent series with the Milwaukee Brewers, the Cardinals took three of four, thanks to mostly solid starting pitching. The relief pitching was stellar as well, with closer Seung-Hwan Oh recording his third, fourth and fifth saves of the season in consecutive games. Sitting in fifth place just a week ago, the Cardinals are now in third and just 1.5 games back of the first-place Chicago Cubs.

Toronto enters this week St. Louis' second interleague series of the year with one of the worst records in all of baseball. The Blue Jays are 5-13 and started 2-11, largely a result of the injuries to third baseman Josh Donaldson and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, and the struggles of slugging right fielder Jose Bautista. …
