2 teen girls charged in death of missing woman

FORT ALEXANDER, Man. - Two girls aged 16 and 17 have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 19-year-old woman on the Sagkeeng First Nation.

Friends and members of the community have identified the victim as Serena McKay of Powerview, Man., and say a video of an attack on her has been circulating on social media.

RCMP have not confirmed the victim's identity but say a 19-year-old from Powerview was last seen on Saturday and was reported missing the next day.

Mounties say later that day they got a call that a body had been found near a residence in Fort Alexander, Man.

RCMP say investigators are still on the scene, including the major crimes unit and forensic identification services.

A candlelight vigil for McKay will be held Thursday on the First Nation. …
