Angels' Place, a nonprofit that provides childcare and other supports for single parents who are students, is closing its facility in Brookline effective July 1.

Two other facilities in Swissvale and the North Side will continue to operate, said Beth Banas, executive director of the organization.

"We're still committed to serve all of our families. Recently, we've found we could serve the Pittsburgh community more effectively from two sites rather than three," she said.

A number of families who attend the Brookline location have agreed to move to other sites and all six employees there have been offered jobs at the other two locations.

Founded in 1984 in the basement of a Brookline church, Angels' Place offers services to single parents and their children who meet low-income guidelines. …
