BC05 - (Yukon-BC-Earthquakes)

SIDNEY, B.C., x-19s. The earth continues to shudder in southern Yukon and the northwestern corner of British Columbia after strong earthquakes centred on the Alaska Panhandle rumbled across the region yesterday. Earthquake seismologist Alison Bird, with the Geological Survey of Canada, says the more than 100 aftershocks are to be expected.

TAG: Following yesterday's 6.2 and 6.3 magnitude earthquakes near Skagway, Alaska, the Yukon government confirmed a school in Ross River and a building in downtown Whitehorse are still being assessed for damage, but no other major problems have been pinpointed.
